Website design in Kampala

If a customer in Kampala wants what you sell, they search for it on their phone before they leave the house. We build the site that puts you in that search result, and we do it without the agency price tag.

What a Kampala customer does before they buy

Someone in Ntinda looking for a dentist does not walk down the road asking. They type it into Google, look at the first three results, and message whichever one has a working website and a WhatsApp button. If your business is not one of those three, you never hear about the enquiry at all.

This is the whole problem a website solves in Kampala. It is not about looking modern. It is about being the business that appears when someone is already holding their phone and already ready to spend.

Built for how Kampala actually browses

Almost everyone who visits your site will be on a phone, often on mobile data, sometimes on a slow connection in Kikuubo or on a boda between meetings. A heavy site that takes eight seconds to load loses that person before they see your prices.

Every site we build is mobile-first and deliberately light. Tap-to-call and click-to-WhatsApp are on every screen, because that is how business gets done here — nobody fills in a long contact form when they can send a message.

We work remotely, and that keeps your price down

We do not run an office in Nakasero with rent to cover, and we do not need you to travel across town for meetings. Everything happens over WhatsApp and phone — you send photos and details, we send drafts, you tell us what to change.

That is why a full business website costs UGX 500,000 here rather than several million. You are paying for the work, not for a reception desk.

That also means we are not limited to Kampala district. Businesses in Wakiso, Mukono and the towns ringing the city work with us exactly the same way, and pay exactly the same price, because nothing about the process depends on where your premises happen to be.

What it costs and how long it takes

A one-page Starter site is UGX 250,000 and is usually live in about two days. Most Kampala businesses take the Business package at UGX 500,000, which covers up to five pages and the basic SEO that gets you into Google.

You pay 50% by Mobile Money to start and the other 50% once the site is live and you are happy with it. Hosting and a standard domain are included for the first year.

Getting onto Google Maps in Kampala

Ranking in Kampala is as much about your Google Business Profile as your website. When somebody searches for a dentist or a hardware shop nearby, Google answers largely from profiles — the map block with hours, photographs and reviews sits above everything else.

The profile and the site support each other. The profile gets you onto the map; the site is what persuades someone once they tap through, and gives Google something substantial to associate with your business.

Setting up and optimising the profile is included from the UGX 1,000,000 package. It is also free to do yourself, and if that is the better use of your money right now, do that first and build the site when it will pay for itself.

Questions

Websites in Kampala — common questions

How much does a website cost in Kampala?

A one-page site is UGX 250,000 and a full five-page business website is UGX 500,000. Sites that take bookings, orders or Mobile Money payments are UGX 1,000,000. There are no hidden charges added later.

Do I need to meet you in person in Kampala?

No. Everything is handled over WhatsApp and phone, which is what keeps the price low. You send us your photos, services and prices, and we send you the site to review before it goes live.

Who owns the website once it is finished?

You do, completely, including the domain name which is registered in your business name. If you ever want to move it to another provider, you can take it with you and we will help you hand it over.

What happens after the first year?

Hosting, SSL and your standard domain are free for the first year. After that a Care and Hosting plan is UGX 120,000 per year, which covers hosting, security updates, backups, your domain renewal and small content edits.

Do you work with businesses outside Kampala district?

Yes, anywhere in Uganda. Because everything is handled remotely over WhatsApp and phone, a business in Wakiso, Mukono or Mbarara gets the same service at the same price as one on Kampala Road, with no travel cost added.

Can you rebuild the website I already have?

Yes. We can move an existing site onto a faster, mobile-first setup and connect your current domain so your web address does not change. Send us the link and we will tell you honestly whether rebuilding is worth the money or not.
